Dr Christine Ezenwafor is an accomplished public health professional with over 15 years of experience in designing, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring health development programs in Sub-Saharan Africa. With a strong focus on communicable and non-communicable disease programming, she has successfully supported initiatives in comprehensive HIV treatment, care and support, HIV/TB integration, and malaria control. Christine’s skills extend to data synthesis, translating data into policy, health promotion, and effective project management.

As a passionate advocate for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), Christine played a pioneering role in establishing the NCD workstream at HSDF and fostered strategic collaborations with key stakeholders such as the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), World Health Organization (WHO), the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF) and other partners to advance NCD-related initiatives. Her leadership was instrumental in the successful implementation of a 3-year Diabetes awareness project funded by WDF. Additionally, she has played a key role in establishing the Nigeria Non-communicable Diseases, Injuries, and Poverty commission with support from the Lancet NCDI poverty commission, showcasing her commitment to tackling major health challenges in the region. Prior to joining HSDF, she served as a Senior Technical Officer with FHI360 country office, where she gained invaluable experience at various levels of operation.
