As Kaduna State prepares for the 2027 Annual Operational Plan (AOP), efforts are increasingly focused on strengthening performance monitoring, accountability and evidence-based decision-making across the health sector. From 26 to 28 August 2026, programme and planning officers received targeted support on the updated web-based AOP tool, quarterly performance reporting, reporting template refinement and review of Q1–Q2 2026 AOP performance. These efforts are enhancing the State’s ability to track implementation progress, identify challenges and use data to improve planning outcomes.

The improved reporting framework goes beyond measuring activity completion by capturing planned activities, implementation status, funding, expenditure and bottlenecks to foster realistic planning. Enhanced financial tracking, role-based access controls, audit trails and programme prioritisation processes are also helping strengthen transparency, accountability and resource management while ensuring critical interventions are reflected in future plans.

HSDF’s support is helping Kaduna State transform AOP data into actionable intelligence, enabling timely course correction, stronger performance management and more informed resource allocation. By strengthening evidence generation and analytical processes, HSDF is supporting a planning culture where data actively drives better health sector decisions and outcomes.
