Strengthening financial management in private hospitals is a critical step toward sustaining quality healthcare delivery. Over the past three years, Project Aisha has invested in building the capacity of facility staff and reinforcing key financial processes, from record-keeping and internal controls to reporting and planning. These efforts have led to a notable 22% improvement in financial management across 11 private hospitals in Lagos State.
To consolidate these gains, the project is now supporting the rollout of the BMAC Accounting Software in select facilities. Designed to mirror existing manual processes, the software offers an easy transition to digital financial management. The deployment began with a two-day financial management workshop held on August 20–21, 2025, in Ikeja, Lagos, where seven staff including accountants, finance officers, and stock keepers received hands-on training to build confidence in using the tool.
One of the participants – an accountant from P&G Hospital remarked, “The BMAC tool is remarkably user-friendly and practical. What stood out for me is its integration with Excel which we are already comfortable with. This makes the transition easier while also boosting our confidence in applying it to day-to-day hospital operations”.
This initiative marks another milestone in Project Aisha’s mission to strengthen private healthcare systems in Nigeria empowering hospitals to operate more efficiently, deliver consistent quality care, and improve maternal health outcomes.
