Nutrition Systems for Sustainable Impact
Transforming Nutrition Systems. Improving Lives. Driving Sustainable Impact.
Beyond Interventions: Strengthening Nutrition Systems.
Malnutrition remains one of the most significant barriers to health, human capital development, and economic growth globally, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Despite the availability of proven nutrition interventions, progress toward global nutrition and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) remains uneven. A major challenge is not the lack of solutions, but the systems required to deliver them at scale. Weak institutional capacity, fragmented governance, limited financing, and insufficient use of data often prevent effective implementation.
Because nutrition outcomes are influenced by multiple sectors, effective coordination across government systems is essential to translating national commitments into sustainable impact.
Strengthening these systems is critical to ensuring that nutrition policies, programs, and investments translate into measurable improvements in nutrition outcomes.
National Multisectoral Nutrition Dashboard
HSDF developed Nigeria’s first national multisectoral nutrition digital dashboard. Used by federal and state government stakeholders, the platform enables real-time tracking of nutrition indicators across sectors and supports coordinated, evidence-based decision-making.
HSDF works at the intersection of data, policy, and systems strengthening to help governments turn nutrition commitments into large-scale, measurable results.
Our technical team works alongside government institutions, supporting the development of national data platforms, and providing technical assistance that informs policy design, financing decisions, and program implementation.
