HSDF participated in the 1st Quarter National Nutrition Technical Working Group meeting convened by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare Nutrition Department alongside government stakeholders, development partners, and technical organizations to coordinate actions aimed at addressing nutrition gaps during the lean season.

The meeting reviewed progress on Q1 2026 implementation across subnational structures and technical subcommittees, while identifying priority actions for Q2. Discussions also focused on strengthening multisectoral coordination and advancing reviews of key national nutrition frameworks to support more aligned implementation.

Key priorities highlighted included scaling treatment capacity for severe acute malnutrition in hotspot areas, strengthening commodity availability through buffer stock planning, and improving early identification and referral through community screening approaches.

HSDF remains committed to supporting coordinated planning and technical efforts that strengthen preparedness and accelerate progress toward reducing acute malnutrition in Nigeria.
