Dr ‘Layi Olatawura is a trained physician and public health expert with over 16 years of international experience spanning the UK, Nigeria, and the Gambia. His extensive expertise has been instrumental in leading large-scale primary healthcare transformation projects, notably in Nigeria. Working closely with senior government stakeholders, including Commissioners of Health and Budget & Planning Commission, he has designed and executed targeted interventions in various critical areas such as Health Systems, Organizational Capacity Management, Supply Chain, and Health Financing.

He continues to make significant contributions to the healthcare landscape. He leads a multitude of projects and transformative initiatives. He stands as a dynamic and forward-thinking healthcare leader with his expertise in primary healthcare systems strengthening and a vast array of experiences in health information system strengthening and performance management, His impact on optimizing health systems, enhancing governance structures, and driving technology for healthcare reforms has left a significant mark on the field. He champions evidenced-based, data-driven decision-making, enhancing Government-donor coordination, and fostering collaboration for improved health outcomes. Prior to HSDF, Layi was a trainee Cardiologist in the United Kingdom.
