Project Aisha Welcomes MSD for Mothers Global Leadership to Nigeria
This past week, Project Aisha had the honour of welcoming the MSD for Mothers Global Leadership Team to Nigeria for a series of strategic engagements with project teams, state officials, and frontline health workers, focused on improving maternal health systems.
On July 14, 2025, at the MSD Collaborators Roundtable hosted by Nigeria Health Watch in Abuja, Project Aisha joined other partners to reflect on implementation successes and next steps. The team shared insights from Lagos and Kaduna, emphasizing how clinical coaching, data-driven QI implementation, and real-time digital tools are reducing maternal deaths. Key knowledge products highlighted the value of translating implementation into policy impact.
In Lagos on July 16, Project Aisha facilitated a high-level dialogue with Lagos state health leaders and MSD for Mothers, reinforcing alignment with government priorities such as health worker capacity building, digital innovation, and community empowerment.
The last day saw the team visit one of Project Aisha-supported facilities – Elf Ikotun PHC, where Officer-in-Charge Apex Ogundare showcased innovations like weekend ANC visits, use of the Labour Care Guide:_ Download Here, and improved referrals—all supported by QI coaching and performance monitoring. Elf Ikotun PHC is part of the rapid scale-up collaborative cohort, benefiting from the insights and tools developed in the initial collaborative, as documented in the Change Package.
