Addressing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes requires a collaborative, multi-sectoral approach. At HSDF, we are committed to this cause. Recently, representatives from our Public Health Advisory team visited Dr. Salamatu Belgore, Acting Director of the FCT Health Insurance Scheme (FCTHIS), to discuss the DAC Project Phase II and explore potential collaborations. The DAC Project aims to increase awareness and access to care for Type 2 Diabetes (T2DM) and Hypertension, with Phase II expanding to Imo, Kano, Lagos, and the FCT.
Dr. Belgore acknowledged the growing burden of chronic diseases and emphasized FCTHISโs dedication to financial protection for all residents. She stressed the importance of partnerships to improve healthcare access and sustainability.
We’re excited about the future of this collaboration and look forward to formalizing it. To learn more about our work in public health advisory, visit our website at www.hsdf.org/news
