After 15 months of invaluable learning and collaboration across 13 maternal health quality improvement (QI) initiatives, Project Aisha concluded Phase 1 of its MHQI Collaborative at Dover Hotel, Ikeja, from September 17 to 19, 2024.
During the sessions, participants reviewed the emerging results from implementing various change ideas and strengthened plans to ensure the sustainability of these initiatives. A key focus was amplifying women’s voices using NaviHealth.ai, which highlighted their experiences with maternal care at partner facilities across Lagos state. Participants also reflected on community-level efforts to empower women to make informed decisions that impact on their health.
Moving forward, Project Aisha remains committed to its mission of ensuring no woman dies while giving birth. By working with state health leaders to scale up these QI initiatives, we are taking crucial steps toward sustaining the gains of the project.
Project Aisha is supported by MSD-for-Mothers and implemented by a consortium of partners—IHI, Ingress Health Partners, and mDoc—with the goal of reducing maternal deaths and obstetric complications in Lagos and Kaduna States by 20% by 2025.
