The meeting, which was held at Dover Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State on 14th October 2020, aimed to review the Q1 HMIS data and provide feedback.

Participants at the meeting were: the Directorate of Planning Healthcare Research and Statistics (DPHRS), Head Health Statistics, Head of Planning, Head of Research DPRS, Primary Health Care Board, State Health Medical Record, Head Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, State Health Management Information officer, LGA Monitoring & Evaluation officers, family planning officers and a representative from HSDF, who led the discussion on the Q1 2020 Data Quality Assessment (DQA) report.

The Q1 DQA exercise held in July 2020. The report presented to the participants indicated the 300 facilities (private and public) that took part of the process scored 95.6%, 92.7%, and 92.9% in availability, consistency, and validity respectively; indicating an improvement over Q4 2019. Furthermore, the private facilities with a score of 92.5% were commended for their great performance and compliance to the process. The public facilities maintained a high score of 95%.

As part of the efforts to ensure that data submitted unto the District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2) is credible, reliable, and accurate, DQA is carried out quarterly to ascertain the quality of the NHMIS data being generated in the state. This is to strengthen the health system through the evidence-based decision-making and improve the quality and uptake of services. This effort is sponsored and coordinated by the Lagos State DPHRS unit through the Resilient and Sustainable System for Health (RSSH) grant.
