The Kaduna State PHC Management Capacity Strengthening Plan (KPMSP), in collaboration with the Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology, and the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Board conducted a ten-day training for Officers-in-Charge (OIC) and Deputy Officers-in- Charge in Kaduna State. The training was held at NAERLS Suites and Conference Center, Zaria, Kaduna State and ran from 16th November through 27th November 2020.
In this phase of the exercise, 36 OICs and Deputy OICs from Jema’a, Zaria, and Kaduna South Local Government, were trained on five key thematic areas, namely: Data Management, Human Resource Management, Planning, and Community Relations, Supply Chain and Inventory Management, and Financial Management.
KPMSP was inaugurated in March 2020 to improve the management capacity of Primary Health Care (PHC) managers in the state and ensure better delivery of quality services to the state’s residents. The project is being implemented by Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF), Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR), and Development Alternatives Inc (DAI), with funding from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).
In the coming months, the project will conduct similar training for the OICs and Deputy OICs of 105 PHCs across ten Local Government Areas in Kaduna State.
