Last week, Project Aisha marked a major milestone as 32 health leaders from Lagos and Kaduna states gathered at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja for the final session of the quality improvement (QI) Leadership Program. Over the last 18 months, the Project has implemented QI interventions to enhance maternal healthcare across various facilities. Leaders gained tools to institutionalize QI systems, interpret data for informed decisions, and develop sustainable, context-specific strategies.

Distinguished attendees included:

  • Dr. Aisha Abubakar Sadiq – Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Ministry of Health
  • Dr. Veronica Iwayemi – Deputy Director, Medical Services and Disease Control, Lagos State Primary Healthcare Board
  • Dr. Sadiq Idris – Director of Public Health, Kaduna State Ministry of Health

Supported by MSD for Mothers and a consortium of partners including HSDF, IHI, mDoc, and Ingress Health Partners, Project Aisha remains dedicated to ensuring every mother experiences a safe childbirth, striving for zero preventable maternal deaths. Together, we can achieve a future where no woman dies during childbirth.
