Enhancing Financial Resilience in Private Healthcare: A Step Towards Better Maternal Health.
 
Project Aisha recently hosted an impactful financial management workshop at BW Starfire Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, bringing together hospital administrators and key decision-makers to explore the vital role of financial sustainability in healthcare.
 
Held on November 18th and 19th, 2024, with the theme “Enhancing Financial Sustainability of Private Hospitals in Nigeria through Effective Policies and Budgeting Practices,” the workshop saw 20 participants from private health facilities in Ifako-Ijaiye LGA. The sessions focused on developing tailored financial policies for hospitals and identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) for effective budgeting.
 
Key Achievements:
– Practical training on regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
– Creation of customized financial policy manuals for individual hospitals.
– Provision of tools to boost financial sustainability and operational resilience.
 
Reflecting on the impact of the session, Mrs. Daramola Kenny, Chief Accountant at P&G Hospital, said, “These financial management training sessions have positioned me to better support hospital management, enabling them to make informed decisions in financial planning, budgeting, and policy formulation.”
 
By strengthening financial management in private hospitals, Project Aisha is empowering healthcare facilities to provide quality care and play a crucial role in improving maternal health outcomes. Supported by MSD for Mothers and a consortium of partners including Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation, IHI, mymdoc, and Ingress Health Partners, Project Aisha continues to lead efforts to enhance maternal healthcare in Nigeria.
