Kaduna State continues to advance its ambitious human capital development agenda through Project HOPE (Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity) initiative. Anchored on governance (HOPE-GOV), primary health care (HOPE-PHC), and fiscal performance (HOPE-BED), the recent mid-year review provided a platform to assess progress, share feedback, and align next steps toward achieving sectoral goals and Project HOPE Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs).

Convened by the Planning and Budget Commission in collaboration with HSDF, Lafiya Nigeria, and PLANE, the two-day meeting brought together stakeholders from health, education, finance, civil society, and development partners. Discussions focused on addressing fragmented planning and weak data systems that hinder evidence-based decision-making.

HSDF presented strategic recommendations to improve PHC outcomes and offered technical support to align HOPE DLIs with the 2026 Annual Operational Plan (AOP).

Through stronger collaboration and a multi-sectoral systems approach, the state recorded improvements in maternal and child health metrics and set the stage for performance-based funding aligned with key reforms.
