In a renewed push to harmonize state-wide health initiatives and improve health outcomes for its citizens, the Kaduna State Ministry of Health recently convened a Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Technical Working Group meeting with a focus on the following key priorities:

• Finalizing the M&E framework for state-led reviews
• Aggregating facility-level data for actionable insights
• Validating Terms of References for critical subcommittees like Health Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and Integrated Disease Control and Response (IDCR).
• Preparation for the Joint Annual Review

HSDF contributed technical expertise during the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning sessions, addressing critical data management gaps and capacity-building needs. The team also reviewed the Gates Foundation Grant Proposal, ensuring alignment with the State Integrated Public Health Emergency Framework — emphasizing measurable impact, strategic frequency, and stakeholder inclusion.

HSDF will continue to provide support to the state government as it looks to operationalize key recommendations from the meeting.
