HSDF marked the 2023 World Diabetes Day in the FCT, Imo, Kano and Lagos states. Events included global walks, Diabetes and Hypertension screening, and educational sessions. Over 500 individuals were screened, and more than 20,000 persons received awareness messages.
This initiative is a part of the Diabetes Awareness and Care (DAC) Phase II Project, funded by the World Diabetes Foundation and executed by HSDF in collaboration with State Ministries of Health (SMOH) and State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHCDA) across Imo, Kano, Lagos, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The project aims to boost awareness, improve access to integrated care and optimize data utilization for better decision-making by 2026.
