In a landmark 2-day event, the Kaduna State Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, led a comprehensive data validation workshop. The initiative aims to build a complete and accurate registry of health workers across all levels—primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare facilities.
Key statistics validated during the exercise include:
A total of 𝟏𝟗,𝟏𝟔𝟒 healthcare workers were recorded
– Gender distribution: 𝟓𝟓% female, 𝟒𝟓% male
– State of origin: 𝟔𝟎% are from Kaduna State
– Educational qualifications: 𝟒𝟎% hold a Diploma/Certificate, 𝟑𝟓% have a Bachelor’s degree, and 𝟐𝟓% possess a Master’s or higher
The workshop also helped to identify gaps in health workforce distribution, support equitable planning and resource allocation, and enhance evidence-based decision-making for a stronger, more inclusive health system.
This effort highlights Kaduna State’s commitment to strengthening health systems through accurate, inclusive data collection. HSDF will continue to support workforce planning within the state by ensuring usability of the data generated.
