To improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes across Lagos State, the Project Aisha team held its second Maternal Health Quality Improvement (MHQI) learning session for the second collaborative at Dover Hotel, Ikeja.

Over the course of three days, more than 75 participants from 11 Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) and 6 Maternity Centers in Agege and Alimosho LGAs gathered for a dynamic knowledge-sharing session. This learning session provided an excellent platform for robust exchanges and strategic partnerships among participants.

The event featured various presentations on Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives, hands-on training in Antenatal Care (ANC) and Labor Care services, data review sessions, mentorship opportunities, and in-depth discussions on enhancing referral systems and patient-centered care. The session was designed to:

  • Enhance QI knowledge and skills across participating facilities;
  • Share progress and lessons learned from QI implementation;
  • Strengthen collaboration between primary and secondary health facilities;
  • Promote peer-to-peer learning and sustainable strategies
Maternal health experts, including Dr. Adelakun Bolanle (Quality Assurance Officer, Lagos State Primary Health Care Board), Dr. Olumide Adegbokun (Quality Improvement Director, Igando General Hospital), and Nurse Deborah Adebayo (Assistant Director, Nursing Services, Lagos State Primary Health Care Board), also shared their expertise, enriching the conversations.
