Year : 2025

Since 2024, the Kaduna State government has been working with key partners, including HSDF, SFH, and UNICEF, to develop a unified monitoring and evaluation framework with a view to reinforcing various health policies and programs across the State.

Last week, the State Ministry of Health took a major step toward achieving its five-year strategic goals by hosting a two-day workshop. The workshop focused on developing key immediate and intermediate outcome indicators to monitor the functionality of Technical Working Groups (TWGs) across the State. These indicators are aligned with the State’s health priorities.

The event featured presentations and group discussions, resulting in a preliminary set of indicators, which were integrated into a proposed template to ensure consistency across all priority areas. Speaking on the importance of this initiative, the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics (DPRS) on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Ministry of Health stated that “clear, actionable, and harmonized healthcare indicators are essential for driving accountability, improving resource allocation, and enabling evidence-based decision-making, ultimately improving health outcomes”.

KSSDP Project Manager, Abolade Oyelere, emphasized HSDF’s commitment to supporting the institutionalization and functionality of the TWGs as a cornerstone of health sector improvement within Kaduna State.
