In its ongoing efforts to improve nutrition outcomes, the Government of Somalia, through the Office of the Prime Minister and in partnership with HSDF, conducted a comprehensive landscape assessment and analysis of nutrition financing in the country. Using a multi-pronged approach— including desk and literature reviews, key informant interviews, and broad stakeholder consultations— the assessment identified key bottlenecks and opportunities to strengthen the nutrition financing system.

Through consultations with government stakeholders, development partners, CSOs, and multisectoral representatives, we validated key findings and co-developed tailored recommendations to address identified challenges and enhance sustainable resource mobilization.

This collaborative effort is a significant step towards improving nutrition outcomes in Somalia. HSDF remains committed to supporting government initiatives across sub-Saharan Africa to elevate nutrition financing and outcomes.

The Finance Capacity Development Platform (FCDP) is a global initiative of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement hosted by a consortium of Results for Development (R4D), Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF), Spark Health Africa, and Center for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP). FCDP aims to support country actors across sectors in building and strengthening their capacity to develop, prioritize, finance, and track nutrition-related actions.
