Project Aisha, in collaboration with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB), has successfully trained over 100 doctors and midwives from both public and private sectors. Held on December 12, 2024, at Ibis Hotel, Ikeja, the training focused on the introduction and application of the Labor Care Guide, an evidence-based tool to enhance care during labor and childbirth.
The event highlighted key improvements made to the WHO partograph, including better documentation, integration of supportive maternal care, and prompt management of obstetric complications. The training also emphasized medical ethics and respectful care to improve maternal experience and outcomes.
Mrs. Ajayi Bisoye of Golden Mother Maternity Homes, expressed their gratitude for the timely and informative training, stating “The training was very educative. I learned how to use the Labor Care Guide, and I plan to immediately adopt it in my facility going forward.”
This initiative aligns with Project Aisha’s goal to collaborate with government bodies at all levels to introduce and scale effective tools that improve maternal healthcare processes and outcomes.
Funded by @MSD for Mothers, Project Aisha being implemented by 4 partners: HSDF, IHI, mDoc, and Ingress Health Partners, continues to lead the charge in safe, respectful and maternal care. Through these efforts, we are reshaping maternal healthcare, empowering healthcare workers, and ensuring that no woman dies while giving birth to life.
How can training like this improve maternal health in your community? Let’s discuss! 💬
