As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the logistics management information system (LMIS) at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFKMC), Liberia, the Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF), through the Health Systems Strengthening Accelerator (HSSA), conducted a virtual workshop for 11 supply chain personnel of the hospital.
The workshop focused on educating participants on the use of the Combined Report, Requisition, Issue, and Receipt Form (CRRIRF) tool, to facilitate the standardization of paper logistics management information system and deploy an electronic LMIS at the hospital.
Before this training, the facility had used non-standardized data collection tools across the different supply chain functions, thus hampering the management’s visibility into logistics data. Consequently, this resulted in pilferage, frequent stock-outs, expirations, and emergency re-ordering of essential health commodities and other medical supplies.
The CRRIRF tool – which reports the three essential logistics data items, including consumption records, stock-keeping records, and stock transaction records at the hospital will enhance the management team’s visibility into logistics management, and availability of reliable logistics data for smart purchasing.
HSDF continues to provide support to the hospital in achieving its ultimate goal of transitioning to the use of e-LMIS for its logistics information management by leveraging available resources within the country. Currently, HSDF is leading conversations with the Health Information System, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Research (HMER) division of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) in Liberia to foster collaborations with the JFKMC towards the customization and deployment of the e-LMIS at the hospital.
A follow-up workshop aimed at ensuring supply chain personnel have a good grasp of the tool is being planned ahead of its rollout in March 2021.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grants and Business Development Specialist to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and fostering partnerships with potential donors and stakeholders (regional and global). This role plays a vital part in securing funds and resources to support our organization’s mission and projects.
The consultant (working with the Accelerator team) will collect results from the tool, organize a meeting with stakeholders to discuss results from the tool, and produce a report on key findings and recommendations from the tool to be shared publicly.
We are currently in search of an experienced Public Health professional in Senegal to work on the anticipated Nutrition Capacity Development and Financing Platform and provide technical assistance to elevate nutrition financing and strengthen local capacity to support these efforts. The Associate must be bilingual (English and French).
