Partners, Programme Officers and other stakeholders supporting RMNCAH +N (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent Health plus Nutrition) programmes in Kaduna State held a scorecard review meeting on 18<sup>th</sup> February 2020, to assess the State’s 2019 performance.
The meeting, which was held at the Saving One Million Lives Conference Hall in Kaduna State Ministry of Health, was chaired by Dr. Joseph Sunday, the Acting Director of Planning, Research & Statistics (DPRS) of the State Ministry of Health. Also, in attendance were the Assistant DPRS, the Programme Manager Saving One Million Lives (SOML PforR), the focal person of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Kaduna State, as well as representatives from the Health Systems Strengthening team of the Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF).
The stakeholders reviewed the twenty RMNCAH+N scorecard indicators: ANC4, SBA deliveries, HTCRT, ARV prophylaxis for pregnant women, BCG coverage, Penta3 coverage, LLIN distribution to ANC attendees, among others. Data from the District Health Information System (DHIS) across the four quarters of 2019 were compared with non-scorecard indicators and survey data to gain a good understanding of the results.
In addition, the drivers of underperformance across programme areas were discussed with programme officers present in order to refine the score card and deep-dive document to be used at the next steering committee meeting for Quarter 1, 2020 performance.
Following successful deliberations, the stakeholders agreed to a meeting between Programme Officers and HSDF in order to gain more insights into the scorecard.
HSDF is responsible for providing continuous support for Kaduna State’s technical working groups, as well as establishing linkages between the scorecard and activity of the plan.
