HSDF Concludes Phase (I) of Data-Generation Exercise Towards Improving Financial Sustainability of Private Sector Associations in West Africa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The USAID-funded Connect and Learn for Sustainable Associations (CLOSA) project is making significant progress towards helping private sector associations (PSAs) operating in West Africa attain commercial viability and financial sustainability. The project prioritizes a co-creation approach to support customized solutions across Private Sector Associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To inform this process, Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation (HSDF) embarked on a data and evidence gathering exercise to understand the current state of these associations, to ensure fit for purpose solutions for each supported PSA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exercise collected more than 120 data points, over a period of 4 months, using a combination of web surveys and online polls from almost 60 respondents, key informant interviews conducted with over 30 PSAs, and detailed financial management assessments in 33 PSAs to gain valuable insights into the operating landscape of PSAs in Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal across the health, entrepreneurship, and agriculture sectors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A comprehensive report based on this evidence generation exercise on the current state of PSAs in these countries is being developed, and the insights obtained from this exercise will inform and refine implementation of cross-country learning activities, mentoring and coaching plans, as well as the development of toolkits, to improve the financial performance and sustainability of PSAs in West Africa.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
